resurrection morning - Jesus

Resurrection Morning!

While it was still dark, Mary inched her way towards the tomb of her beloved Jesus. Deep sadness had enveloped her for days. She had to go. She had to see where He was, where they laid him to rest; the kindest man she had ever known.

Recalling the events of the last few days were excruciating. She couldn’t bear to go over them again. Just the thought of His broken body made her heart ache … the entire scene stinging her soul.

“How I wish I could have eased His pain” she thought. “Wiped His brow, touched His lips with a drop of water, tell Him I am here”. But she couldn’t. Sorrow flowed from her eyes; in the form of tears, uncontrollably, for hours and hours.

Now 3 days later, she cautiously approached the tomb of Jesus. Seeing the giant boulder off to the side, jumbled her thinking. Trembling, she gingerly advanced to the opening and peered in, she saw light and angels …

“Who are you seeking”, they asked.

“Jesus”.

“Jesus of Nazareth”.

“I don’t see Him, where is He?” “Where have they taken Him?” Mary questioned.

Footsteps approached from behind and she turned abruptly. In view was a stranger, he looked like the gardener, He asked her, “why are you weeping?”

“They have Jesus” she answered. “I don’t know where they have taken Him”.

Then Jesus, in only the way that Jesus can, said her name – with such love, in only the way that Jesus can, “Mary”.

When she heard the voice, His voice, she recognized Him and responded “Master!”

Just envision that moment, for a moment.

Mary came to the tomb expecting to mourn … instead … she saw the Lord.

It was resurrection morning.

Jesus was alive. Just like He said.

God keeps all His promises.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”. Hebrews 13:8

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16

 Today’s Prayer:

“Dear Jesus, thank you for the price you paid for my salvation. I’m am so unworthy of such sacrifice, devotion and love. Thank you will never be enough”.
