Dear Mom,
I was visiting with a close friend one day and poured my heart out to her. Things had been going dreadfully wrong for months and day-to-day mothering was getting the best of me. Over a cup of coffee, I exclaimed, “I just won’t make it, everything is going wrong, I am so discouraged.” Instantly she replied, and kind of abruptly, “You will make it. Do you see mothers dropping dead everywhere?” Startled at her reply, I quietly said, “No”. “Mothers make it,” she said softly, “and you will too”.
