Dear Mom,

When my oldest child was 15, the others were 13, 11, 3, 2. Raising older ones, and little ones at the same time, felt like I was being s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d as a mother – somewhat similar to an elastic band. Perhaps you feel the same way today, s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d. We are not just moms, but consultants and counsellors, we’re always cooks and housekeepers, and then throw in a full-time job, and yes, moms can feel s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d. My best advice – stay close to Jesus. He said, “Come to me if you are weary and I will give you rest.” His promise and His invitation, is for you.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)
