I watched a fascinating documentary.

A lone polar bear was caught in a quick spring thaw.

This big fella had been enjoying the end of winter; relaxing in the sun and frolicking on the ice, until the warm sun caught him by surprise and the ice starting melting beneath him.

What was his welcomed friend one minute, became his dreaded enemy the next.

Realizing his grave problem and clearly bewildered, how would he survive now? He kept lumbering from ice flow to ice flow in a desperate search to spot land. Now too weak to even catch his food, hunger became his enemy as well.

With no other options for strength, he slowed his pace to barely moving.

Occasionally, he would look up trying to spot land – and lay back down again, disappointed. He was losing hope.

Eventually, after floating for days – he saw his desired haven in the distance. Bravely, leaving his piece of ice, he drifted towards shore.

Sometimes we are caught unawares too. Something seems innocent enough, when suddenly things change and we find ourselves in trouble.

From time to time, we all live on thin ice. Our enemy, is out to kill, steal and destroy and he never lets up.

God’s word gives us a warning:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8, 9 (NKJV)

Now that we have His warning, we also have His promise.

“For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV)

God always has a solution to every problem. Trust Him – and you will make it.

Today’s Prayer:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I often feel like I’m on “thin ice”. Please make me alert to the enemy’s tactics of discouragement. Deliver me from evil I pray”.
