WAITING GAME – Answers to Prayer

All my children have worked in the food industry. Often while preparing food orders, they’ve come across some impatient customers; especially since we’ve grown accustomed to instant everything.

So to wait … well … no one likes waiting anymore.

Truthfully though, we do wait for lots of things. We wait at the doctor’s office, wait at the stoplight, wait for test results, wait on the phone, wait in the grocery line … we are always waiting on, or for, something!

Life has taught me to be quite patient, however, the hardest wait for me … is …

Waiting for answers to prayer.

Now that’s hard.

In my prayers to the Lord, as a child would softly ask a caring father, I’ve often said, “Dear Lord, I know you still see me, I’m waiting on your answer, please know dear Jesus, I’m still waiting”.

Without fail, He assures me He understands, His timing is perfect and … keep waiting.

I’ve learned, God doesn’t operate in our 24-hour time clock. His ways are just so far above ours. Truthfully, it’s almost ludicrous to insist to God, we want an answer, in our timing. I can hardly type those words really, they seem so audacious.

God simply invites us to make our requests know to Him – with thanksgiving – so that is what I do – daily.

Perhaps you find yourself in God’s waiting room too – I would encourage you to just wait. God sees you.

I have proven over and over …

God’s timing is just plain perfect.

He reminds us to:

“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him …”. (Psalm 37:7)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6,7

Today’s Prayer:

“Dear Heavenly Father, your timing is perfect. You answer prayer. You are God and I am yours. Teach me to wait on you. You are all I need. You hear my prayer and in your time, you will answer. I trust in You”.
