ATHLETES DON’T QUIT

Athletes are such an inspiration to me. I love watching these warriors compete. They always “do what it takes” to win at their game.

Take for example, bobsledders.

They descend down giant ditches of solid ice, at bizarre speeds, in sleds on a steel edge.

For years, they train and prepare to be the best at their game. Bobsledders do not “pack it in” when they fail at a run, no, they muster up the strength to sled one-more-time.

There are hundreds, no thousands, of athletes training today for the Olympic Games this summer. They keep training day after day to master their sport.

What is it that YOU need to get better at … to master?

Think about that “one thing” for a moment. Not two things, just one.

Know what it is?

To be successful at anything takes enormous effort.

Zig Ziglar says it this way: “It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through”.

Mastering anything takes discipline, daily discipline and every athlete would say – it’s just plain hard work.

Athletes have learned this truth … discipline is simply part of the journey to victory.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…”. Ecclesiastes 9:10

“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength”. Philippians 4:13

  Today’s Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I feel like giving up today and quitting altogether, but that is not the answer. Please give me the extra humph I need to keep going. You invite me to call to You in the day of my trouble and You will answer me. I am calling to you … my Father who is in heaven, help me today. (Psalm 86:7)
